Alton police warning parents after possible attempted abduction

ALTON, IL (KPLR)– Alton police are warning parents after an alleged attempted child abduction.

This is the fifth attempted abduction in just two weeks. The first two were in St. Charles County, Mo. The third was in Troy, Ill. and the fourth was in St. Ann.

This recent one happened late Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Alby Street and Brentwood Boulevard.

Police say a 14-year-old boy was approached by a thin white male in his 30s with dark brown hair driving an older-model black Chevy truck with dents on the side.

The Alton School District sent an automated call warning parents of a possible attempted abduction of a student.
