(KPLR) - Justin Deryke pleads guilty in the murder of his niece. He will spend the rest of his life in prison as part of a plea agreement.

DeRyke, 22, is charged with killing his 7-year-old niece Willow Long on September 7. The Watson, Illinois girl’s uncle, admitted to killing her to quote, “put her out of her misery,” after he claimed that she fell on a stick that pierced her neck. Autopsy results later showed she suffered stab wounds.

In September, he plead not guilty to all three counts of first degree murder.
