MoDOT to host Work Zone Awareness Walk/Run

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a Work Zone Awareness 5K Walk/Run  with its St. Louis Fit $ Life team on Saturday, April 12th at  the Chesterfield at Transportation Management Center located at 14301 South Outer Forty.

The race will start at 8 am, and is open to MoDOT employees, their families, friends and the public.

MoDOT says the Work Zone Awareness Walk/Run is to raise awareness of motorist to be careful on the road and to lookout for MoDOT workers working on those roads.

In 2013 three workers were killed, and 411 accidents were recorded in St. Louis area work zones.

The event coincides with “National Work Zone Awareness Week, from April 7th-11th.
