ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-  The "Luck of the Irish" was shining as a gorgeous day dawned Saturday for the annual Downtown St. Patrick's Day Run and Parade. The events, always held the Saturday before March 17th, are a huge draw to the city, with  more than 10,000 runners expected for the morning 5 mile race and more than 250,000 spectators expected for the parade down Market Street.

The parade began at noon and headed east down Market Street. More than 120 units took part, including marching bands, Irish dancers, huge cartoon-character balloons, and lots of clowns.

Be careful coming into and leaving downtown St. Louis, as there are multiple street and ramp closures.
