LITCHFIELD, IL (KTVI)-- A memorial was unveiled Thursday morning in memory of fallen Illinois State Trooper Kyle Deatherage.

The 32-year-old was struck and killed during a traffic stop along Interstate 55 near Litchfield in 2012.

That stretch of highway is now named for him. The I-55 rest stop at northbound milepost 64 was re-named in the trooper's honor.

Besides his wife, Trooper Deatherage is survived by his daughter Kaylee and son Camden.

He was a 1998 graduate of Triad High School.
