ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Does living in Missouri make you miserable? The “Show Me State” ranked #8 on a list of the 10 most miserable states in the country.

Information for the ranking came from a recently released Gallup well-being index poll. Only half of Missourians surveyed said they were thriving last year. That’s among the lowest rates in the nation. Missouri also ranked poorly for emotional health.

West Virginia was ranked the most miserable state.  North Dakota came in first as the happiest state.  Illinois didn’t make either list.
