SIU picks new system President

EDWARDVILLE, IL (KTVI) – The board of trustees for Southern Illinois University, Monday picked Dr. Randy J. Dunn, of Youngstown University as the next president of the Southern Illinois University system that includes the campuses in Edwardsville and  Carbondale.

Dr. Dunn is currently the President of Youngstown University in Ohio. His selection came after a 5 month search that encompassed 100 applicants.

Dunn will be the 8th persons to lead the Southern Illinois University system, replacing current President and former Congressman Dr. Glenn Poshard, who has served as president for the past 8 years.

Poshard plans on retiring on June 30, 2014.
