Mardi Gras Cajun Cookoff

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – There is a Mardi Gras Cajun Cookoff in Soulard on February 15.

Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on: $35 in advance, $40 at the door. Tickets include food, beer, SoCo Hurricanes and soft drinks. Open to the public.

Where: New Location!! The event will be held at the Bud Light Party Centre, in Soulard Market Park. This is a HUGE climate controlled tent that will meet all of your cooking and partying needs!

What:  One of the region’s most prominent cooking competitions where there will be judging by local St. Louis Celebrities and Food Professionals, and live music by Super Jam!

Executive Chef Andreas Baecker talked with Elliot Weiler about the event and made some red snapper.

    I attended the cook of on the 15th. I enjoyed talking with the Chefs and watching their cooking skills.

    The down side was the music was so loud you couldn’t talk to anyone and the “flyer” stated there would be Crawfish which is why I went in the first place. $80.00 for a few draft beers and a sandwich with rice was not my idea of Cajun food.

    Good thing it was for charity.
