(CNN) — The widow of a man who police say was fatally shot by a retired police officer in a Florida movie theater this month told reporters Wednesday morning her ordeal has been “unimaginable” and “unbearable”

Wearing a pink arm cast protecting the wound that she suffered in the shooting nine days ago, Nicole Oulson tearfully thanked people for their prayers and support before addressing her anguish.

“My whole world got shattered in a million pieces, and I’m left trying to pick them up and put them back together. It’s so hardand it’s so unbearable,” Oulson, widow of Chad Oulson, told reporters at a news conference with her attorneys.

Police say Curtis Reeves, a 71-year-old retired Tampa police officer, killed Chad Oulson in an argument at the Grove 16 theater in Wesley Chapel on January 13.
