Beef prices expected to rise because of deep freeze

(KPLR) – Last week’s brutal cold that hit much of the U.S., is now going to hit you in the pocketbook.

When the temperatures dipped to record lows up north, ranchers had to give their cattle more feed just to maintain their body temperatures.

And those costs will be passed on to you.

The deep freeze, compounded an already shrinking domestic beef industry due to drought in some areas last summer.
