(FOX NEWS) – The Supreme Court blocks another attempt to enact strict state abortion laws.
The court declining Arizona’s latest appeal, stopping it from enforcing a ban on most abortions after twenty weeks of pregnancy.

The decision leaves in place the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court’s ruling calling the law unconstitutional.

The federal appeals court says the law violates a woman’s constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy before a fetus is able to survive outside the womb.

Supporters of the legislation say the law is meant to protect a mother’s health and, prevent fetuses from feeling pain.

Nine other states are trying to enact similar laws, but, most have been struck down by other courts.
