BRENTWOOD, MO (KPLR)-- We've been hearing a lot lately about the increasing number of local flu cases, but it seems St. Louisans are also beginning to suffer from an epidemic of cabin fever.

If being cloistered in your home has you about to slide into insanity, you are not alone.

That's what 11-year-old Emma Wallace was ready to do until her dad got her out of the house by taking her to the Magic House.

Washington University Psychiatrist Robert Cloninger sees cabin fever as an affliction full of possibilities.

At Brentwood Travel, their call volume is way up and so is the volume of the callers who all seem to be screaming the same thing.

Some are mapping out plans for a resort; others are looking for a cruise.

Yes there is no place like home, unless you are stuck there.

If you are thinking about taking a cruise and looking for a deal, Brentwood Travel is sponsoring its annual "Cruise Festival" January 24th through the 26th at West County Center.
