(KPLR) –  The frigid temperatures are keeping American Water crews busy because of water main breaks.

Crews have responded to at least 25 Tuesday. On Monday, 30 main breaks were repaired across the St. Louis County water system.

Officials say water main breaks are affected several St. Louis County subdivisions:

  • Clayton and Kehrs Mill — 12 inch water main break. Our crews just started work on this one.
  • 367 and Chambers — 20-inch diameter water main break. Crews worked overnight. Water service should fully restored in about 3 hours. We hope to have the road open early afternoon.
  • Dunn Road between Washington/Elizabeth and New Florissant. Our crews are just starting work on this one.

St. Louis City water crews are handling several calls as well.
