Wash U cancer researcher gets $375K grant

PHILADELPHIA, PA. (KTVI) – Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has awarded cancer researcher Jeffrey Bednarski of Washington University a $375,000 grant for his research on how immune cells respond to the DNA breaks in order to support correct repair and minimize chances of cells generating cancer cells.

The grant covers three years of research, and will also be supported by additional $10,000 for purchasing reference library material, equipment and funding to attend educational events.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation goal is to engage and encourage young researchers in the quest to find a cure childhood cancers, while researcher are building their budding careers.
