KANSAS CITY, MO (WDAF) – A man from North Kansas City has been charged with first degree murder and says the torture he took part in was “senseless”.

Prosecutors charged Zachary M. Lisle, 20, with first degree murder, robbery, kidnapping and three counts of armed criminal action in connection with crimes committed against Mark A. Thomas.

Lisle and a juvenile male are accused of getting a ride from Thomas in his pickup, then attacking him. They stole his ATM card, beat him, tried to cut off a finger to steal his gold ring, drove him to a bank to withdraw $200, then left him in a women’s restroom where he died.

Relatives found his truck and saw lots of blood. They notified authorities.
