ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - MoDOT is hitting the streets preparing for Saturday night's expected winter storm.

Starting at 7 pm, 230 plows will hit the roads in the St. Louis area. Crews are scheduled to work 12-hour shifts, and will focus on the interstates until they're clear.

Over in Illinois, IDOT will be doing much the same with workers have already working around the clock state-wide.

Workers have been pre-treating state roads and bridges all day.

Both transportation agencies are urging motorist to drive slowly if you have to be out and about, and be especially careful on ramps, bridges and intersections.
