ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Christmas day travelers were coming and going from Lambert Airport Wednesday.

Many said they choose to travel on the holiday to avoid crowded planes and get cheap flight rates.

Jeffrey Brooks said he was coming to St. Louis from Alabama to visit his "sweetie."

"The one who make my heart skip a beat," Brooks said.

Patti Glassner said she opened presents in Charlotte Christmas morning and then flew to St. Louis.

"The kids and I are here to have dinner and maybe open some more presents with family," she said.

Holiday travelers said airline employees can make traveling on a holiday enjoyable.

"Just being nice and making us comfortable," Brooks said.
