(KTVI) – Police have charged a man for a deadly hit and run in north St. Louis County.

Cedric Marion, 17, was hit by a pickup truck while walking at Chambers and Green Valley Saturday night.

He died later at a hospital.

A witness caught the license plate of the truck. That led police to arrest Redmond Harris, 47.

He’s charged with involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a revoked license.

WOW! How devastating is that?! My heart goes out to Cedric Marion’s family, as well as the family of Red The Bar-B-Q Man. Their lives will be changed forever. It would be nice, however, if our streets were safer for both drivers AND pedestrians. Some streets have no sidewalks, no street lights, and faded out paint to designate lanes & curbs. There have been far too many accidents that probably could have been avoided under better circumstances.
