ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Secret Santas are dropping by Walmart stores in the metro St. Louis area paying layaway bills for customers and employees.

Jerrica Moore, an employee was stunned when she went to the payment counter at the Walmart in Chesterfield Valley and learned her bill had been paid.

"I was surprised and shocked. I didn't know what to think," she said.

Moore had toys on layaway for her two young children, one and ten months of age. She was worried she wouldn't be able to pay the $95 before the deadline. Santa's special gift couldn't have come at a better time. Moore was burned out of her home a few weeks ago and needed the money she was going to use to pay for her layaway to pay a deposit on an apartment. "I'm really happy because I didn't know how I was going to get my kids stuff out of the layaway because times have been hard," she said.

Walmart officials say the Santas, who remain anonymous, visit all 24 stores in the metro St. Louis area every year spreading holiday cheer.
