White Castle customer stabbed over a beer

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- A dispute over a beer ends with a restaurant customer stabbed.  Police say the victim suffered a facial cut inside the White Castle on S. Broadway just before 4am on Tuesday.

According to police, a customer walked in with a beer, was told to leave but started harassing an employee.  That`s when another customer tried to help the worker.  Police say a physical altercation began.  The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the 57-year-old customer who was trying to help.  Police say the injury was minor.

"I`ve never heard anything like that," said Leonard Cannon.  He was walking by the White Castle Tuesday night.

"Maybe the guy had a problem," said Cannon.

Robert Tucker does security work.  He says the incident is a reminder that you never know how someone will react.

"You can even say something to someone and they will go ballistic on you," he stated.
