ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - For the second time in less than 24 hours, a vehicle slammed into a building in the St. Louis area.
The latest one happened early Wednesday morning in north St. Louis on Brown, just west of Kingshighway, at a vacant warehouse. Part of the building appears to be sagging as a result of the crash.
This all happened a little before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say a silver Chevy Impala crashed through a chain link fence, then into the building. The car apparently hit a support beam of some type.
Authorities say an officer actually just rolled up on this scene during his normal course of patrolling. Apparently, the driver of the car that crashed was already in another vehicle. That other driver apparently stopped to help him.
The injured driver was taken to a hospital for treatment and a building inspector was called to the scene. This comes after a big-rig slammed into a building in Mascoutah, Illinois, early Tuesday morning. In that case, police say the driver fell asleep. Nobody was hurt there.
