Plan to help unaccredited school districts

(KPLR) - The Normandy and Riverview Gardens loss ofaccreditation lead to the massive busing transfer court decision, an option Missouri wants to avoid in the future.

Sherrie Wehner, from Education Plus, says there is a better way to keep schools accredited.

Wehner talked about a programs that will put the focus on under performing school buildings, rather than the district as a whole.  She discussed that many currently unaccredited school districts still have some high performing schools.

Wehner has an extensive business marketing backgroundand she talked about the fundamental goals of the intervention plan.

The main focus of the program is to provide support and resources needed to enable every student to attend a quality school in their own community.
