CLAYTON, MO (KPLR) –  A St. Charles, Missouri man caught in an internet sting is behind bars for allegedly asking a minor for sex.

St. Louis County Police say Michael Engler, 50, was arrested during an undercover investigation by their department, the FBI, Secret Service and St. Charles County Cyber Crimes Unit.

Investigators say Engler agreed to meet a person whom he believed was a 14-year-old boy to engage in “sexual conduct.”

He was arrested and is charged with Attempting to Persuade, Induce, Entice and Coerce a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity.

Now investigators want to know if Engler has had sexual contact with any other minors because he was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

Engler is currently in jail.
