FLORISSANT, MO. (KPLR) - It’s been a rough few days for Shiree Cherry, her 14-year-old daughter Dominique Cherry-Jones has been missing since Wednesday. She was last seen with a female friend wearing all black, and carrying a blue bag. Cherry never showed up for classes at McClure high school something her family says is completely out of character.

"I'm not sure if she's being held against her will, but I just want her back home. She has always had big goals and big dreams and big ambitions and never did this before." said Cherry

According to Florissant police, investigators are treating it as a missing persons and possible runaway case and say they need more information before an amber alert can be issued. Meanwhile, relatives say they believe the teen is in danger. More than 50 family members crowded the police lobby and parking lot Sunday looking for information.  The teenager’s uncle Anthony Cherry flew in all the way from Los Angeles to pass out posters.

"We are concerned about my niece and I would not be standing here and caught an 8 hour flight just to get here." It`s a team of us out on the streets everyday doing a search looking for my niece."  Said Cherry

Officials say a series of false leads and uncooperative associates of the teen are making it hard to nail down the facts. Police also suggest that all parents keep updated cell phone, social media and contact information of friends to help investigators if they ever need it.

At this point police believe Dominique Cherry is still in the Florissant area.
