(KPLR) - This week's edition of The Pulse of St. Louis focuses on The Affordable Care Act (ACA) also known as Obamacare.
President Obama signed the law March 23, 2010, and it went into effect October 1, 2013, with the hope of making quality health insurance more affordable for about 50 million people across the country.
This week, Health Insurance Exchanges, a website where people can go online to find out what's available and buy health insurance opened in states across the country. They are a signature part of the ACA.
The Affordable Care Act is getting rave reviews for making it possible for people with preexisting medical conditions to get health insurance, offering tax credits for small businesses to buy insurance and for allowing children to stay on their parent's insurance until they're 26-years old.
