(KPLR) – Suffering from back pain? Your cell phone could be the culprit.

Tablets and smartphones are causing an epidemic of back pain as people hunch over devices.

Now they have a name for it; doctors are calling the health issue “i-Posture”.

84-per cent of 18 to 24 year olds have admitted to suffering back pain in the last 12 months.

This age group now loses more working days a year to back pain than those in their parents` generation.

A typical young adult spends nearly nine-hours a day in front of a screen, other than a TV.

It’s a little over six and a half hours for older generations.
