Two arrested at ATM for installing skimming device

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Police have arrested two men for using installing a skimming device on an ATM. Creve Coeur police found a suspicious device installed on an ATM machine located in a US Bank in Creve Coeur on September 17th. Police say the device was being used to record ATM transactions. Video surveillance footage revealed images of the suspects and their vehicle.

Two days later St. Charles Police arrested two men while making a transaction at an ATM. They both matched the description from the bank surveillance video, had many cloned debit cards and a large amount of cash.

Svetoslav Tanev and Geroge Dimitrov Chalov have both been charged with fraudulent use of a credit device. One of the men was also charged with trafficking in stolen identities.

The US Secret Service assisted in this joint investigation with the Creve Coeur and St. Charles police departments.
