China to allow access to Facebook in Shanghai

(KTVI) – Facebook is banned in nearly all of China by the communist government. But Chinese authorities are preparing to allow the social network in one major city.

The ban would be lifted in the new Shanghai free-trade zone. The policy will allow access to Facebook, Twitter, the New York Times and other media sites.

China is modeling Shanghai after Hong Kong.
