(KTVI) - The daughter of a soldier wounded in Afghanistan is now an internet sensation.  Five-year-old Alanah Poullard was pictured with the President at the White House and took home a memento of the visit made just for her.

Alanah made the trip to the White House to be part of the ceremony honoring her mother, who was wounded in Afghanistan last year.  Her mom, Yolanda, is in Washington recovering her injuries.

When President Obama came out to greet her, Alanah's dad got a little nervous.

"She went straight for him, then I thought the Secret Service would stop her. No one approached her,"  Stacy Poullard said.  "And she jumped into his arms, threw her arms around his neck, he gave her a hug and a kiss and they were then maybe 50 feet away... I have no idea what they said."

Alanah says she asked for an excuse letter and the President gave her one piece of advice: show the letter to her teacher, but don't let her keep it.
