TROY, IL (KTVI)-- An Illinois family is searching for answers tonight after their five year-old daughter was found along a main road.

She was supposed to be in school, but no one noticed when she wandered away.

It happened Friday morning at Silver Creek Elementary in Troy, just after kindergartner Paisley Elliot got off the school bus.

According to Triad Superintendent Leigh Lewis, Paisley somehow walked down the wrong hallway, and then outside, past staff members and police officers.

She was finally spotted by some Good Samaritans along Route 162.

Now, school administrators say they plan to station more personnel throughout the building every morning.

Paisley`s parents were also upset the school district never notified other families about the incident, but the superintendent says confidentiality laws prevented them from doing so.
