Illinois State Police to issue more Tasers

CHICAGO (KPLR) – More Illinois state troopers will receive tasers, state-of-the-art ones that can record video of all traffic stops.                     

The Chicago Sun-Times says, the Illinois State Police will now give these weapons to every patrol trooper and Sergeant.

Before, tasers were only issued on a limited basis.

The state police points to research, that shows tasers are an effective tool.

Tasers can immobilize a person with a high-voltage charge.
