Willow Long laid to rest

(KTVI)– Seven-year-old Willow Long was laid to rest in Effingham, Illinois Monday. Long was killed last week.

Her body was found during a search, two days after her mother reported her missing.

Police say her uncle stabbed her to death.

People attending Monday’s funeral wore purple, Willow’s favorite color.

Many say they didn’t know her, but felt her story hit close to home.

Willow’s uncle, Justin DeRyke, is charged with First Degree Murder.

He’s being held on a $5 million bond.
