CENTREVILLE, IL (KTVI) - It was a crazy scene early Friday morning in Centreville after several people were shot at a public housing complex.

Police from half a dozen police departments responded.  According to police, four people were shot.  It happened around 2:30 a.m. at Ernest Smith Housing Complex in Centreville.

It appeared first responders were attending to victims at two different location in the complex.  We counted some eight different police agencies who responded to the scene including crim scene investigators from the Illinois State Police.

Authorities have not given us many details about how seriously the victims were hurt.  But police say they do not believe anyone was killed.    Police believe the incident began after some guys were hanging out and got into an argument.
