VANCOUVER, CAN (KTVI) – Kayla Smith, 25, was vising a friend in Olympic Village when her locked up bike was stolen last Wednesday. Smith’s friend found her bike listed on Craigslist and it was for sale only two-blocks away.

The Globe and Mail reports that she had contacted police to get involved, but feared her bike would be sold before they could help. Smith called the seller and asked to meet him at a nearby McDonald’s.

After meeting with the seller, she asked if she could take a test drive. He said yes, but advised her not to drive off. After getting on the bike, she rode away with the bike. Smith checked the serial number to make sure it was hers and the numbers matched. Later on she left a voice mail for the thief letting him know it was her bike that he had stolen.
