(KPLR) - A Missouri lawmaker from Kansas City has been arrested for marijuana possession.  Representative Jeremy LaFaver resigned from his leadership role in the house.  However, the freshman lawmaker has not resigned seat.

LaFaver was on his way home from the house democratic caucus in St. Louis when he was pulled over on I-70 in Columbia, due to his failure to respond to an earlier traffic related citation.

The highway patrol officer found drugs and drug paraphernalia in his car.  The Republican Party is calling for LaFaver to resign from the state legislature.
