ST. LOUIS, MO. (KPLR) - A memorial to St. Louis metro area first responders puts a thousand giant paper cranes on Art Hill, in Forest Park.

It's part of the 'STL Crane Project'.  After the display is finished, you can take home a crane for 10 dollars.

All proceeds are donated to the 'Backstoppers' charity.

Also part of today’s event, was a reading of the names of all fallen first responders. Each crane was folded from a 60-inch piece of paper and has a wing span of just under four feet.
