(KTVI) - Illinois residents will soon be able to register to vote online. On Saturday, Governor Pat Quinn signed House Bill 2418 into legislation allowing voter registration online.
H.B. 2418 also changes the hours for early voting on Sundays in Illinois from 9:00am-Noon to Noon-3pm and requires the State Board of Elections to post precinct-by-precinct totals for all of the state’s precincts.
Governor Quinn called the action a part of his plan to increase participation in our democracy.
Illinois is the 18th state to allow online voter registration.
