ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Criminal charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting a woman Wednesday in Pulaski County.

Shawn Christopher Gregory, 32, has been charged with first degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm. Police say the shooting occurred Wednesday during a domestic dispute between Gregory and Francis Blackwood. Gregory reportedly pulled out a rifle mid-argument and shot Blackwood. Police say Gregory then fled the scene, surrendering himself to authorities in St. Robert soon thereafter.

Blackwood is currently in critical condition due to a bullet wound to her shoulder and chest. Gregory is currently being held in Pulaski County Jail with a one-million dollar bond.
