NEAR LONEDELL, MO. (KPLR) - After a nearly 5 hour search, Franklin County authorities found a man wanted for firing several shots inside a home.

Police responded at approximately 1:45pm on Sunday after a report of shots fired in the 62-hundred block of Oak Grove Church Road, near Lonedell, Mo.

“Family members were able to escape unharmed,” said Lt. Thomas Leasor, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Leasor said police heard several shots when they arrived but the suspect ran away.  The suspect was found after multiple agencies assisted with the search.

SWAT teams from Jefferson and Franklin Counties arrived shortly after the search began.  There was also help from the St. Louis County Police helicopter.

“We wanted to set up a perimeter around the area,” explained Leasor.

The area they tried to seal off is heavily wooded but they were able to take the suspect into custody without anyone getting hurt.

Leasor says investigators will work with prosecutors to determine whether any charges will be filed.  He said the suspect is in 40’s and had fired a shotgun.
