(KPLR) - Right on time, small pockets of thundershowers have developed across the region this afternoon with the heaviest concentration in Illinois. These showers and thundershowers will continue to rotate in from the north/northeast and will produce very short bursts of heavy rain and some spotty lightning along with wind gusts to 30-40 mph. The rain threat will fade after sunset. The updated Independence Day forecast is coming your way on Fox 2 News at 5pm.
