ROXANA, IL (KTVI) - The storm that produced the EF3 tornado in St. Charles and St. Louis County went on to produce another EF3 tornado in Madison County, IL.

Damage from the tornado and straight line winds is widespread in the metro east.  The most intense damage is associated with the tornado track from near Roxanna, IL through Edwardsville.  The worst damage, rated as EF3 is at the Roxana Landfill where winds of 140 mph destroyed a large storage building and severely damaged a maintenance facility.

In Edwardsville, hundreds of historic and very large oak trees were either topped or toppled.  While the damage is severe, residents know it could have been much worse.  There were only minor injuries and no fatalities.
