(KTVI)- The steady rain that moved in Thursday and stayed all day Friday pushed east Saturday morning and that was good news for many events across the region. Towns reported anywhere from 2 inches of rain up to 4 inches plus south of metro St. Louis. Even with scattered showers still in the forecast, the temporarily only gray skies made many smile.

The 2013 Metro St. Louis Heart Walk was held rain or shine Saturday morning. As crowds shuffled into Busch Stadium, participants were able to leave the umbrellas tucked away.

Also looking forward to a bit of dry weather were the Cinco de Mayo Festival on Cherokee Street, the St. Louis Microfest beer festival in Forest Park, and the Valley of Flowers celebration in Florissant.

Meteorologist Angela Hutti says more rain is expected overnight and during the day on Sunday. So don’t put the umbrellas away just yet.
