KIRKWOOD, MO (KPLR)-- The president of the St. Louis Community College's Meramec Campus has resigned in the wake of a student assault.

The chancellor sent out the message to students, faculty and staff Monday night about President George Wasson.

The school is facing criticism for how it handled the attack against a student in the women's bathroom.

Jevon Mallory, 18, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault.

Even though police caught Mallory at the scene, it took four days for him to be arrested and then he was allowed back on campus to talk with school officials.
