ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Fans will notice changes before they even get into Busch Stadium Monday because of the long awaited construction of Ballpark Village.

That construction will impact you if you`re driving or walking around Busch today.
Among the changes fans will notice-- Walnut Street and Eighth Street in the immediate area around Busch now two way streets.

The 8th street pedestrian bridge is also gone. The 10 acre Ballpark Village site is certainly a work in progress now.
But by Opening Day next year, the first phase of Ballpark Village will be complete.
It includes 100,000 square feet of retail, entertainment and restaurant space.
Cardinals officials say the buildings will be framed out after the all star break and bricks will be up by September.

Cardinals President Bill DeWitt III is ready to say goodbye to 'Lake DeWitt' as he has called it and hello to Ballpark Village.  The intersection of Clark and 8th Street  right by the plaza of champions outside the Cardinals team store has been redesigned with a much larger sidewalk area.

A fan rally will actually be held there Monday from 11:30am-1:30pm.
Clark Street is being improved and will be open to pedestrian traffic.
