ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Cardinals third baseman David Freese has been activated for the home opener against the Cincinnati Reds. Freese had been placed on the 15-day disabled list since March 23 due to a lower back strain.

Freese appeared in three games at Memphis this past weekend in an injury rehabilitation assignment and batted .333 (4-for-12) with two doubles and four RBI.  He was 3-for-5 in Sunday’s series finale against Oklahoma City.
