(KTVI) – The Rutgers men’s basketball coach’s enthusiasm for the game can be seen on display each game. Coach Mike Rice’s fiery passion has led to questionable teaching methods outside of the live action.

ESPN’s Outside the Lines obtained and released a video chronicling footage that called for Rice’s suspension in December 2012. Rice was forced to sit out of three of the team’s games by school officials after allegedly berating players during practice.

“I mean, unbelievable to me… that somebody would feel that technique would be successful,” said Eric Murdock, former Rutgers Director of Player Development. Murdock, 44, complained to school officials about the verbal and sometimes physical abuse of players.

ESPN reports Murdock intends to sue Rutgers for wrongful termination after Rice fired him in July 2012.
