(KPLR) - Construction is set to begin in a little over a month on the third and final phase of the page avenue extension.  Motorist who will be using the extension have a chance to hear more about the project Tuesday night at a special open house in St. Charles.

Work on the $118 million dollar project will begin in May and go through the heart of St. Charles County.

It will add nine miles of highway between Mid Rivers Mall drive in St. Peters and the Route N and Interstate 64 interchange in Lake St. Louis.

The contractor's design and construction schedule is available for public viewing from now until 7:00 pm Tuesday night at the St. Charles Community College rotunda.

Phase 3, also known as the route 364 Project will be a four-lane freeway with an open, grassy median, similar to route 1-41 or I-70 past Warrenton.

Residents, businesses and commuters interested in learning about the new roads and its major cross street interchanges will have a chance to view displays and discuss the project with engineers.

Phase three should be finished by late fall.
