ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-- Mike Roarty died on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at age 84. At first glance, you might not recognize his name, but people around the world recognize his vision. For almost 25 years, he led the marketing department at Anheuser-Busch, overseeing legendary ad campaigns such as "This Bud's For You," "Head for the Mountains," and "Gimme a Light."
He was the first executive at A-B to recognize the value of sports sponsorship, inking a huge deal that helped launch ESPN and creating exclusive sports marketing deals that live on today. Roarty was also a humanitarian whose charitable giving changed thousands of lives in St. Louis.
