(KPLR) – Finding a way to speed up rush hour.
This stretch of 270 has been one of the slowest going rush hour areas in St. Louis for as long as I can remember.
When MODOT decided to add a lane south of 40 there was a lot of debate. Some drivers didn't think that would make much off difference but it did.
In fact traffic speeds during the peak rush hours are up double digits, about 10 miles per hour faster than before the new lanes.
Now there will be construction on the south bound lanes to add a lane south of 40.
I'm not the traffic expert but I would think speeds would pick up there as well.
I love it when a plan actually works.
