BELLEVILLE, IL (KPLR) – Classroom cuts are coming to schools in Belleville.

School board members in District 201 have approved the layoffs of three full-time and one part-time teacher. More staff reductions could be decided at next month’s meeting.

The superintendent’s office says the cuts are necessary because the state of Illinois owes the district more than two-million-dollars in education funding.
